Then, Dana realized that they might soon become a family of four, despite the odds being stacked against them. Dana kept the news to herself for five long months because she wanted to be absolutely sure before she told anyone.

Arkell Graves broke down and cried when his wife put some buns in the oven to tell him she was pregnant.

Dana caught her husband on video and his emotional, tearful reaction quickly went viral as people all over the world responded to their truly heartwarming birth announcement.

The couple nicknamed their baby “Baby Bun,” since the buns were how the mother broke the news to her husband.

But just a few weeks after their announcement, Graves shared a heartbreaking post on Facebook about his wife going into labor early.
Baby Buns decided it was time and that he was coming into the world at just 24 weeks.

Dana soon went into labor and delivered a beautiful baby boy named Kaleb Arkell Graves. When Kaleb was born, he weighed less than a pound — 13 ounces to be exact.
Being a preemie baby, Kaleb had many nights ahead of him in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Kaleb’s world was fill with love from the moment his mom realized that he was growing inside of her, but it would be a long time before he came home with his family.

During his stay at the NICU, Baby Buns was diagnosed with a chronic lung disease because his lungs didn’t have time to develop fully. Due to his weakened lungs, the little baby needed assistance breathing with a non-invasive ventilator. On top of that, the child also had a surgery to repair a hole in his heart.

The fight was long for family, but Baby Buns overcame every obstacle thrown at him.

Fast forward to a year later, Kaleb is finally “graduating” from the NICU. The parents are celebrating this milestone because their little child has accomplished an impressive feat– getting healthy enough to finally leave the hospital.

As of October 2016, Baby Buns is finally making his way home for the very first time, and his parents couldn’t have been more excited. The father was so overwhelmed by the news that he couldn’t help but shed tears of joy.
“At this very moment, all of my men are asleep under the same roof. Some days I really didn’t think that would happen,” wrote Dana Graves in a Facebook post.
